 And the Winner is ...

This year CharliCharlie Bell presents Chip Schulz with the grand prize.e Bell and Jay Pierson thought a great fundraising idea for the NJSPLS Scholarship Foundation would be to hold a 50/50 raffle.  Raffle tickets were sold by our officers, directors and members over several months.  A total of $10,000 was raised! The winning tickets were drawn at the conclusion of the Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner with the third prize of $100 going to Glenn Walby, second prize of $250 going to Matthew Park and the winner of the first grand prize winner of 50/50 raffle to support the NJSPLS Scholarship Foundation was David (Chip) Schulz of Seacoast Builders Corporation. Message from the President

by Patrick Fatton, PLS

On Wednesday, May 20th, I participated in a discussion and demonstration of surveying equipment at Hillsborough High School in Somerset County. I had been contacted by Gary Veenstra, PLS, Chairman of the NJSPLS Trig Star Committee regarding the NJSPLS Trig Star Competition. Gary had been asked by Dr. Maria Szijj, Hillsborough High School Math Department Chair, to arrange for a discussion with interested Math Club students by a representative of NJSPLS. Since Hillsborough High School is only about 20 minutes from my office, I gladly volunteered. [More]

From the Field

Calling All Paul Smiths College Alumni!

Creighton Fee is being honored at the PSC Reunion on July 17th at the Alumni Reception. His wife is planning a brunch on Sunday, July 18th in Tupper Lake for Creighton's former students. For all those who had to suffer but did learn under his tutelage, she would like to invite you and your families to a breakfast brunch in Tupper Lake on Sunday, July 18th to reminisce with Creighton. Since she needs a head count for the restaurant, please get in touch with Diane Gagnon-Fee at lamatante@verizon.net. P.S. It's a surprise for Creighton!
