This web site is to assist the NJ Professional Land Surveyor with compliance of the NJ Statute 51:1-6
TITLE 51 STANDARDS, WEIGHTS, MEASURES AND CONTAINERS 51:1-6. Test of measuring devices Steel measuring tapes used by professional land surveyors and professional engineers shall be compared by the State superintendent at least once in five years with standards traceable to the National Bureau of Standards. Every professional land surveyor and professional engineer engaged in surveying and engineering within this State shall test and note the actual variation of his electronic distance measuring device from the "Calibration Base Lines" established by the National Geodetic Survey, at least once each year. He shall submit to the State superintendent, over the appropriate professional seal, a copy of his notes, including the date and time of the test, on forms acceptable to the National Geodetic Survey. To assist with completion of the EDMI Calibration Baseline (CBL) Data Form to be filed with the NJ Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Consumer Affairs, Office of Weights and Measures.
It was implemented during Spring 2006 as my Senior Project while I attended the New Jersey Institute Of Technology (NJIT), Newark, N.J.
