Engineers Continuing Education Requirements Take Effect January 12, 2011

Engineers Continuing Education Requirements Take Effect January 12, 2011

The New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors recently enacted a Professional Competency requirement for licensed Professional Engineers. The Board has indicated that PE’s will need to complete 15 credits by April 30, 2012 and 24 credits in subsequent renewal periods

Since a number of NJSPLS members are dual-licensed, NJSPLS has submitted 17 courses being offered at SurvCon 2011 on February 2-4, 2011 to the State Board for accreditation for engineers to fulfill their new Professional Competency requirements.  Click here to view the list of submitted workshops.

Additionally, NJSPLS is an approved provider for continuing education for surveyors holding licenses in New York, Delaware and Maryland.

The Delaware State Board for Land Surveyors has approved all educational offerings at SurvCon 2011.

For those licensed in Maryland, all courses at SurvCon will have an outcome measure to qualify for “A”-level credits.

Pennsylvania recently enacted continuing education requirements for land surveyors and engineers and many course offerings can be used to fulfill this requirement.
